I think English grammar (and other changes from Old English other than wordstock) never would have simplified remotely as much as it did without Norse, so it would be better to just learn and speak Old English than do Willsome English. How do you respond to this? TimeMaster (talk) 21:04, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

Well, iland tungs tend to be very conservative, like Icelandic or Sardinian. This is less true with English to a great deal because Norse speakers who were learning English not fully understanding English grammar of the time, and children who grew up around Norse and English speakers simplifying/inventing new grammar and then passing it onto their children. Creolization, effectively. TimeMaster (talk) 00:22, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

I've have just read your discussion about how you have made a dialect of Anglish with a friend and may I ask you whether it's satire and just for fun or sundry from the main Anglish project/ movement as in my opinion to remove Norse and Frankish words would greatly hinder our goals for reforms. Norse ought to be considered another tribe that settled England along with Jutes, Angles, and Saxons. Their words don't have a superstrate-like quality to them, even including pronouns and "be" conjugations. I think it'd be best to just learn Old English, perhaps with small updates, if you want to even take out the Norse. TimeMaster (talk) 20:53, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
